Natural Disasters

In 2010, an earthquake shook the country of Haiti to its core with an earthquake that reached an astounding magnitude of 7.0 on the Richter scale.  This was absolutely devastating for the country because of how hard it was struggling even before the earthquake even hit.  Prior to the earthquake a shocking 80% of Haitians lived under the poverty line.  The country's economy took a major blow from the earthquake, costing the country upwards of $7,5000,000,000.  As if things weren't bad enough for Haiti, almost all of the country's vital infrastructures that were needed to help recover from the disaster were either terribly damaged destroyed.  Also, the fact that the country is on an island only decreases the availability of needed resources.Image result for haiti earthquakeImage result for haiti earthquake
